Self made V/s Heir Apparent

I was just talkin to a friend of mine yesterday and we were discussin about how we should be given the option of choosin our career instead of some course being pushed down our throats simply coz folks and the rest of them believe that this is the best that could happen to you.

And if you happen to mistakenly join a course which your folks push you in, could you still get out of it half way through and start your own career????? Well, I was of the opinion that yeah very few could take that risk coz they are born into a family where money has not been a criteria and they could take all the time in figurin out what exactly they want to do in life.. sure it ain't possible for someone who knows that once you get out the course you need to work and ensure that you are bringin money onto the family table.

That takes me to the next question, why aren't all Heir Apparent to their family wealth never in the league of their predecessor's???? Definitely there are exceptions, but I think I can safely say that 90% of them just don't make the cut. I've always pondered why??? Is it their upbringin of not knowing an difficulty in life..????. is that they know that they really needn't worry coz they have the family wealth to fall upon on??? Or they aren't just keen to work hard????

On the other side if you see, most of them who have made it big is usually gone through hell to reach where ever they are and even more better, they are so rooted in their beliefs that they just know exactly what to do but guess there's the curse they have to put up with.. their KIDS!!!!! This even holds good for people who hold high offices in governments and private organizations!!!

Guess somewhere the kids are made to forget the ground realities and then when the face the future on their own, they kinda get confused as to how to handle the same!!!!

  1. Interesting. Just to be fair to the kids, probably they didn t find their purpose like their parents.
Curious case - Rohan Gavaskar did not play a single test match, while his dad played 121 for India and was feared by the most fearsome fast bowlers. Rohan perhaps errored in choosing cricket , but cannot blame him - How about Abhishek and Amitabh Bhachchan ? :)
