Last weekend, I was asked to meet up with a friend's friend who had come to Bangalore along with her daughter for the common entrance exams. End of the meet up, I was totally overwhelmed and felt good that I did take out time to meet them.
Though she was findin it difficult to communicate to me in English, she managed a brave front and I was slippin into the little hindi I know to help her switch but she refused to budge and continued to speak to me in English. There are few things which I would like to highlight in this post.
First of all, I think her daughters are a BLESSED lot, simply coz the dedication she has shown towards ensuring that her daughters are given the best, which she was denied. Given the fact that she was married off early right after her high school and then motherin two children, livin in a joint family, startin a parlor to make ends meet hasn't dampened her spirit of ensuring that her daughters get the best. Also the fact that her folks and siblings are really well to do off and ensuring that she doesn't knock their doors is highly admirable.
Though she has been stretched all possible ways, be it emotional or financial, the undying spirit of her is what gets her going. Infact I was just tellin her daughter that she owes a lot to her mom and she better live upto her expectation. I know most of us would go back and see that all our mom's have always gone through hell to bring us up, but as usual we are most likely the last one to recognize her efforts, or even walk upto her and say "Mom I love You and You are the BEST"
Well, here's wishin her daughter all the best for a education and career and Ma'am its definitely been an honor meetin up with you and I'm sure your dedication will ensure your daughters would go places. Thanks for remindin me again how important a role our mom's have played in shapin up our lifes. And definitely lookin forward to meetin you again some time in the future.
