A Wonderful Tragedy - G. Shravya

I chanced about this piece of poetry written by a Class X student G. Shravya from Hyderabad while I was browsing one of the newspapers!!!!! Gosh the kid's got talent I should say... I hope they don't mind me borrowing the poetry for my blog ;-)

Life is such a wonder
One second everything is clear
But in the next it's all chaos,
We don't know why we're here!

We all start off as strangers
A few become our friends,
The rest all disappear
Our relationship with them ends.

A few friendships are weak,
Some, very strong,
But most end in heart breaks
And many go all wrong.

Sometimes when we are lucky
A friendship can be a start,
to a more meaningful bonding
That brings magic to the heart.

There is an inseparable togetherness
And for a while, it's pure bliss
But nothing lasts forever,
And so doesn't this.

It all starts over
Every thing's chaos once again
Life is such a wonder
Yet, it is so full of pain!

G. SHRAVYA

Truly the kid is gifted and definitely the words sound pretty heavy even for a 10th grader, looks like the kid's really had some tough break ups.. but just thought its a beautiful piece written from the heart and the last bit of the poetry is full of optimism which I suppose is what rubbed me off too to post it here :-)

  1. The poem is a great one of course. It is very touchy indeed. Hats off to the poet.

What disturbed me is that it came froma 10 th class girl - What are we putting these children through ? Has the innocence of childhood been lost for ever ?
